Firefighter injured in blaze at Baltimore County wastewater treatment plant

A firefighter suffered minor injuries in a blaze late Monday night at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant in Dundalk, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The firefighter was taken to a hospital after a slip-and-fall during the incident. Previously, the department had said no one was injured in the fire. No other employees or fire personnel were injured, officials confirmed Tuesday.

Fire officials said the blaze posed no threat to the community, the water supply remains safe, and there were no hazardous materials concerns.

The fire was declared under control at 11:37 p.m., but crews stayed on scene into the early morning hours, the department said.
