Firefighters in Montgomery County say a man is in the hospital after crews pulled him from a burning home in Bethesda. Fire department spokesperson David Pazos said the man has serious, life-threatening injuries. Firefighters were first called to the home in the 4800 block of Broad Brook Drive in Bethesda for a fire around 11:10 a.m. Monday. When crews arrived on scene, they found flames showing from the living room and garage area. Neighbors told firefighters on scene that the homeowner, described as elderly, was still inside the home. Crews quickly searched the home, and brought the man to safety. Pazos said the fire was brought under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It is not known whether the home had working smoke alarms.
