Man killed in Avon house fire

One man was killed Sunday afternoon in a structure fire on Avon Valley Road, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety. Fire crews from Phillips and the Franklin County Sheriffโ€™s Office were called to 259 Avon Valley Road around 12:45 p.m. Sunday after a report of a structure fire. There were concerns that someone might still be inside the home.

When firefighters arrived, they found one person had died in the fire. The victim has been tentatively identified as 37-year-old Issac Marston. His remains have been taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy and formal identification. The Maine State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
