First responders say a large house fire in South Lake Charles has been contained. The fire was burning Thursday afternoon on Fernwood Drive just off Lisle Peters Road/Country Club Road, Lt. Brenda Treadway of the Lake Charles Police Department said.
LCPD were dispatched to the scene at 1:29 p.m. LCPD and the Lake Charles Fire Department responded to the fire. As of 3 p.m., the structure fire was contained, City of Lake Charles Spokesperson Katie Harrington said. First responders were working to put out hotspots.
