VIDEO/PHOTOS: Authorities are investigating a deadly house fire in Henderson that claimed the life of one person and sent two others to the hospital. The fire occurred Sunday night along Millcreek Drive near Villagebrook.
One person died, and two others were rescued from the burning structure late Sunday night. Investigators are currently trying to determine the identity of the victim.
Firefighters and Henderson police were first called to the home just before midnight on Sunday. Through their quick action, one Henderson police officer broke a front window, entered the house, and rescued one person.
Another officer helped bring a second occupant to safety. One officer was treated for smoke inhalation at a local hospital.
“They were on scene about four hours the first time,” said Assistant Chief Willie Curry of the Henderson Fire Department. While on scene at noon, firefighters had to be called again after a hot spot sent smoke out of the top of the house.
