New Fire Station 5 and Public Safety Training Center open in Hopkinsville

The city of Hopkinsville is celebrating the cityโ€™s first expansion of fire protection services in more than 24 years, Fire Station 5. This dual-purpose facility represents one of Hopkinsvilleโ€™s most significant public safety investments in decades.

Fire Station 5 will improve emergency response times, expand coverage of the city, and support the Hopkinsville Fire Department. The onsite Public Safety Training Center will serve as a modern, centralized location for hands-on training โ€” not only for Hopkinsville firefighters, but also for regional emergency responders.

โ€œFire Station 5 and the new Public Safety Training Center are big wins for Hopkinsville,โ€ said Mayor Knight, in a release. โ€œThese additions help our firefighters respond faster and give them a better place to train and stay prepared. This project shows weโ€™re serious about taking care of our community and investing in the people who keep us safe.โ€

People are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting and community open house on Friday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m.
