The city of Hopkinsville is celebrating the cityโs first expansion of fire protection services in more than 24 years, Fire Station 5. This dual-purpose facility represents one of Hopkinsvilleโs most significant public safety investments in decades.
Fire Station 5 will improve emergency response times, expand coverage of the city, and support the Hopkinsville Fire Department. The onsite Public Safety Training Center will serve as a modern, centralized location for hands-on training โ not only for Hopkinsville firefighters, but also for regional emergency responders.
โFire Station 5 and the new Public Safety Training Center are big wins for Hopkinsville,โ said Mayor Knight, in a release. โThese additions help our firefighters respond faster and give them a better place to train and stay prepared. This project shows weโre serious about taking care of our community and investing in the people who keep us safe.โ
People are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting and community open house on Friday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m.
