VIDEO: Three people are without a home after a duplex fire on Thanksgiving night left one couple with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The fire happened around 8:30 p.m. on Brothers Way, with flames engulfing the duplex structure. Michael Elliott and Suzette McCloud, who lived in the duplex, lost everything in the blaze.
Elliott was in the bedroom when he first noticed the fire. โI was sitting in our bedroom I heard some electrical popping so I got up and walked to the back bedroom by then I could already see the fire that it was already coming from the downstairs coming up to the upstairs,โ Elliott said.
The fire spread rapidly through the structure. โSuper quick it was a matter of two minutes from the time I seen it till the house was full of smoke,โ Elliott said.
