Former Campbell County firefighter is on the hunt for his equipment after a Goodwill donation

VIDEO: A man is looking for his fire helmet and radio sash after they were accidentally donated to Goodwill several months ago. Noah Snyder told FOX19 NOW he was a firefighter with Campbell County Fire District 1 for 11 years, but he decided to change careers to spend more time with his young family. He has a fiancรฉe and a newborn baby girl.

โ€œBeing in the service for 11 years was taking a toll on my mental [health] and stuff like that,โ€ he explained. โ€œTo just better take care of myself and be there for my family, I had to hang it up.โ€ Snyder said heโ€™s still proud of his service, which is why he held onto his helmet and radio sash. Unfortunately, he explained that the items were donated while he was out of town. โ€œSome things kind of got misplaced and set aside at my parentsโ€™ house in the middle of moving out,โ€ he said. โ€œIn the middle of things being liquidized, I guess you could say, my helmet and radio sash got donated.โ€
