Fire breaks out at car dealership in Crestwood; cause under investigation

VIDEOS: Emergency crews were on the scene of a structure fire in Crestwood Sunday afternoon. According to Oldham County Emergency Management, the fire was located near Veterans Memorial Parkway and Highway 22.

Authorities closed down West Highway 146 as crews worked to contain the blaze. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing thick black smoke rising into the air. Video from the scene shows heavy smoke billowing into the sky. Jim Sohan, the fire chief at North Oldham Fire Department, confirmed the fire started at the Glenn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership. No one was inside of the building. “Originally, the Oldham County Police Department received this as a burglar alarm. The owner showed up at the scene to check and see if there was a burglary. When he looked inside, he saw smoke inside the business,” said Sohan.
