VIDEO: Cooler weather has moved in across Kentucky, but dry conditions are still fueling fire concerns. So far, more than 25 counties and four cities have issued local burn bans. That includes Warren, Pulaski, Shelby, and Mercer counties, along with cities such as Augusta and Lawrenceburg. The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet says rules can vary by community, but bans typically prohibit campfires, burning leaves or debris, and in some cases, certain types of outdoor grilling. Violating a burn ban is considered a misdemeanor. Officials urge residents to check with their local fire department before burning anything outdoors.
