Multiple agencies were called to a house fire Saturday morning in Wellington. It happened at a home on the west side of the city near Delrose Street and Western Avenue, according to the Willington Fire/Emergency Medical Services Department.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from multiple sides of the house. Crews forced their way into the home to attack the fire and bring it under control. No one was inside when the fire broke out, according to Wellington Fire, and no injuries were reported. The department said the cause appears to be electrical.
Wellington Fire was assisted at the scene by Sumner County 911, the Wellington Police Department, Sumner County Fire District 8, Sumner County Fire District 9, Kansas Gas Service, and City of Wellington Utilities.
