Two firefighters fell through the floor of a burning home while battling a fire early Friday in Park City. The fire happened in the 6600 block of N. Kerman St., south of 69th Street and Hydraulic.
A battalion chief with Sedgwick County Fire District 1 said as firefighters from the Wichita Fire Department searched for someone who was reportedly trapped inside, two firefighters fell through the floor and into the basement where the fire was burning. The firefighters were not injured and were able to escape.
One man was pulled from the home, and all others were able to escape. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the SCFD 1 and the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives). The home is likely a total loss.
