1 taken to hospital after fire at Sioux City apartments

VIDEO: Sioux City Fire Rescue responded to a fire call at Pheasant Acres apartments Monday afternoon. Officials were dispatched to 3640 Indian Hills Drive at around 2:15 p.m. on Monday after a fire alarm was triggered. When officials first arrived at the scene, they said they could see smoke coming from a third-story window and KCAU 9โ€™s reporter at the scene said officials could be seen accessing the third floor of the apartment building through a window.

One person was taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. Officials used a ground ladder to rescue the person from the apartment due to their inability to get out on their own. Their injuries were non-life-threatening, according to officials. No other injuries were reported.
