Jackson Township strengthens its volunteer firefighters

PHOTOS: On Friday, Jackson Township officials in DeKalb County announced it will give more support to the Volunteer Fire Department to enhance community safety. The firefighters will now be able to allocate more time and resources towards expanding recruitment efforts, enhancing training programs, and investing in infrastructure upgrades.

According to the press release, the Jackson Township advisory board confirms that existing township financial reserves are sufficient to support necessary enhancements in volunteer training, modern equipment, and operational readiness to provide local fire protection services.

โ€œWe are fully committed to maintaining a strong, capable volunteer fire department,โ€ stated Audra Wilcoxson, Jackson Township Trustee. โ€œWe have launched a robust recruitment campaign, welcomed several new volunteers, and expect more to join soon. Our top priority remains the safety and well-being of all township residents.โ€
