Four pets are dead, 1 person was hurt, and three homes have been moderately to heavily damaged following a series of fires in Fort Wayne on Saturday. According to the Fort Wayne Fire Department (FWFD), the first fire happened in the 2900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue around 4 p.m.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they say they found smoke coming from the upper level of a two-story house. Soon after, they made entry and located a fire in an upstairs bedroom. The department says the fire was extinguished in 15 minutes and confined to the room of origin. Two people who were in the house at the time of the fire were able to self-evacuate, and no injuries were reported, according to FWFD. The home sustained moderate smoke, fire, and water damage.
