3 adults, several pets displaced by northwest Indianapolis house fire

Investigators are looking into the cause of a house fire that displaced several people on Indianapolis’ northwest side Sunday evening. The fire was reported around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 16 in the 3900 block of North Lawndale Avenue, near 38th Street and North High School Road.

“An alert neighbor” notified the residents of the home to evacuate, and fire crews from the Indianapolis, Speedway and Pike Township fire departments arrived to find heavy flames coming from the home, officials said.

The fire did significant damage to the one-story home, displacing three adults and several pets, IFD said. The fire was brought under control in roughly 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
