VIDEO: The St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District provided more details about a fire that broke out at Roch’s Place on Sunday afternoon. Firefighters responded to the scene around 3:20 p.m. and found “heavy smoke” coming from the northwest corner of the building.
Employees confirmed with firefighters that everyone was out of the building. One worker from Roch’s was transported for smoke inhalation, the fire protection district said, but no other injuries were reported. Soon after the fire crews arrived, the fire department requested additional units to respond due to the high temperatures. The firefighters worked together to put the fire out and to vent the roof. While this fire was happening, firefighters were told there was also a potential kitchen fire at El Toro. When firefighters checked inside they found a small fire in the walls. They quickly put it out.
