PHOTOS: Firefighters responded to a โheavily involvedโ structure fire in Teutopolis over the weekend while also working to keep a propane tank and a tank of fuel oil from overheating near the garage. The fire broke out at a home near the intersection of E. 1300th Avenue and 2055th St. in rural Teutopolis around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
While on the way, Teutopolis firefighters requested additional help because of the size of the fire. When firefighters arrived, they found that the garage was โheavily involvedโ with flames, and the fire was approaching the home.
Firefighters used multiple hose lines to put out the fire and worked to keep the propane and oil tanks from overheating from the nearby fire. But, the fire department said the flames had weakened the north wall, and it was close to collapsing on both.
