VIDEO: No one was hurt after a car caught fire in Mahomet Tuesday night. The fire happened just after 9 p.m. in Candlewood Estates, near the corner of McLean Street and Forestview Drive.
John Koller, Chief of the Cornbelt Fire Protection District, told WCIA that a car was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived, and the flames were threatening the mobile home it was parked next to. A video of the fire showed multiple small explosions happening after the car burst into flames.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes of arrival; the mobile home suffered no major damage, with only some melted siding. No one was hurt, and the cause of this fire is still under investigation.
