Two car crashes cause backup on U.S. Highway 93 near Twin Falls

VIDEO: Two simultaneous crashes caused a temporary backup on U.S. Highway 93 on Saturday. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when two bumper-to-bumper crashes happened in the right southbound lane on the Perrine Bridge, according to a Jerome County deputy on scene. There were no injuries to any occupants or the two dogs inside one vehicle.

The crashes blocked the right southbound lane for around an hour and a half, creating a bottleneck near the bridge. The bottleneck backed up traffic all the way to Exit 173. Tow trucks pulled all vehicles away, and deputies reopened the left lane around 1:10 p.m. Deputies said they cited two drivers for both crashes. The Jerome Rural Fire Department also assisted the Jerome County Sheriffโ€™s Office with the response.
