Level 1 (Get Ready!) evacuations in place for the Sage Brush Fire burning northeast of Athol

VIDEO: The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has ordered evacuations for the Sage Brush Fire that is burning about three miles northeast of Athol. It has burned 40 acres as of Monday at 8:45 p.m. Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) resources say they were on scene, with nine engines, one dozer, four single-engine scoopers, one air attack and four hand crews. There were a total of 100 personnel on the scene. IDL says the fire was reported around 1:25 p.m. Monday. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. There is an evacuation center at the Real Life Ministries Church in Athol at 30447 Rough Stock Rd, on the corner of Rough Stock and Highway 54. BCSO says there is an evacuation center for animals at the Bonner County Fairgrounds for large animals. They are only accepting animals that are evacuating from the Sage Brush fire.
