VIDEO: A house fire on Cole Road forced a road closure on Wednesday afternoon as firefighters battled flames that caused a chimney and roof collapse. The Boise Fire Department said crews responded to the fire at 2:33 p.m. on North Cole Road. Arriving crews found heavy fire at the rear of a single-family home. While battling the fire, the chimney and roof collapsed, forcing firefighters to withdraw from the home, but they “managed to bring the fire under control from the exterior.” Boise Fire confirmed nobody was injured in the fire. Cole Road was closed in both directions between Northview and Ustick roads while crews worked to extinguish the fire. The Boise Police Department advised drivers to avoid the area. The fire department has not released the cause of the fire, and it is under investigation.
