Bicyclist struck in Kimberly, emergency response delayed by inattentive drivers

VIDEO: A bicyclist was struck in a residential subdivision in Kimberly on Wednesday, but emergency responders faced multiple delays getting to the scene due to inattentive motorists who failed to yield the right of way. The crash occurred in a subdivision just south of Kimberly High School, according to the Twin Falls County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

Paramedics and first responders were attempting to reach the scene to provide emergency care when their response was delayed multiple times by motorists who failed to yield and were not paying attention to their surroundings, the sheriffโ€™s office said. The incident prompted the Twin Falls County Sheriffโ€™s Office to remind the public that Idaho law requires all motorists to yield to emergency vehicles using lights and sirens and if a helicopter is being directed to land.
