Update: 93-year-old woman dies in Ewa Beach house fire

An unattended death case has been initiated by the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) following a fatal house fire in Ewa Beach on Wednesday night. The house fire was reported just after 6:30 p.m. on Fort Weaver Road in the Ewa Beach area. It was reported that four women, ages 28, 31, 53, and 56 were able to escape the fire.

Police said that two women suffered from burns and were treated and taken to a nearby hospital, one in critical condition and one in serious condition. According to the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS), paramedics on scene treated a total of seven patients for multiple burns and smoke inhalation. The remaining five patients declined to be taken. After the fire was extinguished, police confirmed that human remains were found. The individual is believed to be a 93-year-old woman. The Honolulu Medical Examinerโ€™s Office (ME) is expected to release her identity.
