Oahu: Two rescued after being swept out into surf off Ke Iki Beach

VIDEO: Two people were rescued off the shoreline of Ke Iki Beach Sunday. At around 7:45 a.m., Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said it co-responded to two patients, a woman, 69, and a man, 76, who were swept out into the surf from the shoreline. Honolulu Ocean Safety said lifeguards, the Honolulu Fire Department, and a bystander responded to pull both of them from the water before care was transferred to EMS. EMS said both patients were swept underwater, and itโ€™s possible they swallowed water. EMS administered advanced life support and took both patients to the hospital in serious condition.
