VIDEO: A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon at one of the largest homes in all of Buckhead, according to fire officials. Atlanta Fire Rescue responded after a fire broke out at the house on 490 W Paces Ferry Road. Fortunately, nobody was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.
As a precautionary measure, a firefighter experiencing possible heat exhaustion due to extreme temperatures was seen being helped away from the home, fire officials said. The iconic mansion is known for its massive dimensions and for its features in numerous blockbuster movies and popular TV shows. The home sits just across from Tuxedo Road and just down the street from the Governor’s Mansion on a two-acre property lot, according to buckhead.com.
A local family most recently purchased it for $8.5 million. The 25,000 square-foot house is known for its appearances in the films “Zombieland” and “Three Stooges,” while also appearing in HGTV’s “Million Dollar Rooms” and “MTV Cribs.” The home’s lavish style is credited to its former owner, “Big Papa” Lee Najjar. This real estate investor was portrayed as the “sugar daddy” of Kim Zolciak-Biermann of Real Housewives of Atlanta, according to buckhead.com. Atlanta Fire Rescue did not say what caused the fire on Wednesday.
