The Athens-Clarke County Fire Department will implement their new Rescue 4 vehicle, designed to strengthen the departmentโs technical emergency and rescue response operations across the community, on Friday, Oct. 24, according to a press release.
Replacing two older rescue vehicles, Rescue 4 features specialized equipment for technical rescue, vehicle extrication, trench and confined space operations, high-angle rescues and structural collapse incidents. The vehicle includes medical and firefighter-rehabilitation gear to support prolonged emergency scenes.
โRescue 4 is a testament to our continued commitment to protecting the residents and visitors of Athens-Clarke County,โ Nate Moss, ACCFD fire chief, said. โThis vehicle provides our firefighters with the most advanced equipment available to respond to complex rescue situations quickly and effectively.โ
