A man was injured in a fire in southwest Atlanta on Sunday evening, according to officials. The fire happened in the area of the 1100 block of Ira St. SW shortly after 8 p.m. Officials said the call came in as an entrapment, and they brought in at least ten pieces of equipment for the person trapped and support for firefighters. โOur fire investigators are working to determine cause, we donโt know everything is still under investigation,โ said Anare Holmes, the public information officer with Atlanta Fire and Rescue. Fire crews said they rescued an elderly man, believed to be in his 60โs, who sustained third degree burns. Officials said he is in stable condition and was transported to Grady Hospital for further treatment. Holmes said the structure is a duplex with about eight to ten people living there in a โrooming house.โ Holmes said the home has water damage from the fire fight, but also smoke damage and soot inside.
