Ribbon cut on newly commissioned Dixie County fire station

VIDEO: The ribbonโ€™s been cut on a new fire station in Dixie County, and firefighters will start answering calls for service Thursday morning. Fire rescue officials said emergency workers at this new station will respond to a majority of calls in the county. โ€œOur population is growing, like a lot of places in the state of Florida. This will help with that growth,โ€ said Dixie County Fire Rescue Lt. Jonathan Waters. Lt. Jonathan Waters will work at Station 4 in Old Town. He said this new station will cut down on response times for emergencies. โ€œWe want to do a good job, I want to do a good job,โ€ Waters said. โ€œI look forward to working at this station and helping the community.โ€ Station 4 will also have a new ambulance, adding to the current fleet for the first time since 2001.
