VIDEO: The Orlando Fire Department Arson and Bomb Squad hosted an inclusive Easter egg hunt on Saturday for visually impaired children at the Dr. Phillips Center in downtown Orlando. OFD first responders designed special Easter eggs that beeped to ensure that children with visual impairments could participate in the holiday tradition. The event was inspired by a first responder whose daughter is visually impaired. “He started this program, with love and his knowledge of being a bomb tech, for the ATF, he built these Easter eggs, kind of like we do for the bomb squad, they are made of electronics, and we put them inside an egg and we made them audible with a beeping sound, so impaired children can have the same holiday experience as a sighted child,” said OFD Arson & Bomb Squad Spc. Lt. Aaron Stover.
