Massive barn fire in Alachua County causes over $1 million in damages

VIDEO: Officials with the Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) said they battled a large structure fire for more than 5 hours early Tuesday morning. They said around 5 a.m. Tuesday, an extensive overhaul fire caused between $1 to $1.5 million in damages when a large barn with a metal roof caught on fire. It happened north of Newberry, near Northwest 62nd Ave/27-41, according to officials. ACFR officials said the county fire marshal is investigating the incident. The barn was between 1,200-1,300 sq ft. At least 3 boats, an RV, and a fairly new pickup truck were lost.
