A man and cat have died after a fire broke out at a two-story home in St. Petersburg Saturday morning, according to the St. Pete Police Department. The fire broke out just before 1 a.m. in the 1000 block of 17th Street North.
A spokesperson with the police department said the Red Cross is assisting two displaced residents. And a spokesperson with St. Petersburg Fire Rescue said two adults escaped the fire with no injuries. SPFR said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
