The Wilmington Fire Department is investigating a structure fire in the 2,900-block of Lancaster Avenue late Tuesday morning.
Firefighters arriving at the scene encountered smoke showing from a two-story detached building with commercial operations on the first floor and apartments above. Firefighters ensured that everyone was safe and fought fire in the walls and ceilings on both floors of the duplex. The fire was under control within 30 minutes.
Both floors of the structure sustained extensive damage, and an adjoining structure sustained moderate fire, smoke and water damage.
