Elementary students in Norwich were set to make a memorable entrance on their first day of school. Kindergartners at elementary schools across the city will arrive in fire trucks. It was part of a partnership between the Norwich Fire Department and the Norwich Public School District.
Instead of being dropped off by a school bus or a parent, a select group of students was given a special ride aboard firetrucks to celebrate the start of the new school year. Itโs not yet clear how many students were selected or how they were chosen, but the district said every elementary school in Norwich participated. The effort was meant to help make the transition into kindergarten exciting and welcoming for both students and their families.
