A climber is recovering after falling in Eldorado Canyon State Park on Wednesday morning. According to the Boulder County Sheriffโs Office, the communications center received a call at 8:30 a.m. reporting a fallen climber near the climbing area of the Red Garden Wall and Yellow Spur.
The caller told deputies they heard what sounded like a person in pain from a nearby location and found a climber who had fallen. Deputies said a technical rescue was needed to extricate the victim from the location where he had fallen. The victim was carried down the scree field, and crews used a rope system to transport him over the South Boulder Creek to an ambulance.
The climber was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The technical rescue lasted approximately three hours, according to deputies. Boulder County deputies, Mountain View Fire Rescue, and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group responded to the scene.
