Crews investigate cause of Greeley fire

VIDEO: The Greeley Fire Department is investigating after a second alarm fire on 9th Avenue Sunday morning. At about 5:30 a.m., the fire department responded to a fire in a large commercial building in the 100 block of 9th Avenue, according to a Facebook post. Upon arriving at the scene, crews requested additional GFD units as well as personnel from Platte Valley Fire District, Windsor/Severance Fire District, Evans Fire District, and Eaton Fire District, the Facebook post said.

Greeley Fire said responding teams took a defensive approach with the fire to contain it. No injuries were reported, Greeley Fire said, and no other buildings were affected. Fire department personnel will stay on scene for the rest of the day Sunday, and nearby streets will remain closed or restricted to local access as crews continue to work on the fire.
