Springdale Fire Department, fire chief earns statewide honors

The Springdale Fire Department and its fire chief earned statewide honors at the 2025 Arkansas Fire Convention. The Springdale Fire Department (SFD) has been named the 2025 Fire Department of the Year for Arkansas in the category of cities with populations over 20,000, according to a SFD Facebook post. The award was presented during the 2025 State Fire Convention, held in Hot Springs from June 4โ€“7. According to the announcement, the recognition is based on the departmentโ€™s service, performance, and contributions to public safety. โ€œThese recognitions are a testament to the incredible teamwork and passion that define our department,โ€ SFD said in the post. โ€œThank you to our community for your continued support โ€” we are honored to serve you!โ€

Springdale Fire Chief Blake Holte was also named the 2025 Fire Chief of the Year for Arkansas. The award recognizes leadership and innovation in fire service management. โ€œ[We] would like to congratulate Fire Chief Holte on his years of dedication and service to protecting and serving his community,โ€ the Arkansas Association of Fire Chiefs said on its website. Congressman Steve Womack also wrote, โ€œCongratulations to Chief Holte and the entire team for their exceptional commitment to keeping Springdale safe.โ€
