New fire chief announced in Blytheville

The Blytheville Fire Department announced the promotion of a new fire chief on Wednesday evening. The department promoted Assistant Chief Daniel Holifield to the position on July 9. According to the announcement post, Holifield began his career with the department in 1999. He has served the city of Blytheville for nearly 26 years. โ€œThroughout his career, he has worked his way up through every rankโ€” from firefighter to driver, lieutenant, captain, fire marshal, assistant chief, and now fire chief,โ€ the department said. โ€œHis dedication, leadership, and deep understanding of every aspect of the fire service have made him a respected and trusted figure within the department and the community. Chief Holifieldโ€™s passion for public safety, commitment to training, and focus on service excellence have helped shape the departmentโ€™s future,โ€ the department added.
