VIDEO: The Pima County Sheriffโs Department provided a few additional details about an incident on a hiking trail on Saturday, Aug. 30. The PCSD says crews responded to the Linda Vista hiking trail following reports of two injured hikers. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said the women were inexperienced hikers and foul play does not appear to be a factor. 53-year-old Lyn Lagergren was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman in her late 60s remains in critical condition at a local hospital, Nanos said. The PCSD Parks Enforcement/Search and Rescue Team worked with multiple state and fire department agencies and found the women a short distance apart.
