No injuries after trooper-owned plane makes emergency landing on Wasilla roadway

VIDEO: A small plane owned by the state made an emergency landing on a major road Thursday morning in Wasilla. The Piper Super Cub plane was captured on video landing on East Seldon Road, just east of Wasilla-Fishhook Road. A National Transportation Safety Board investigator told Alaskaโ€™s News Source that the aircraft is a โ€œstate trooper plane,โ€ and there was no damage or injuries. They also said the agency will not be investigating.

Video captured moments after the landing shows trooper patrol vehicles blocking the roadway to allow room for the plane to land and maneuver. A spokesperson with the state Department of Public Safety said the Super Cub made a โ€œprecautionaryโ€ landing on the road due to โ€œmechanical issues,โ€ adding that the road is no longer blocked. The Federal Aviation Administration was on scene after the plane landed.
