Anchorage condo fire displaces families; cause under investigation

PHOTOS: The cause of a weekend fire at an Anchorage condominium complex is still under investigation.

It happened late Saturday at a 24-unit building on Blackberry Street. When firefighters arrived, they found flames tearing through part of the structure.

Crews were able to rescue a cat named Rory from one of the units. Fortunately, the Anchorage Fire Department confirms no people were injured. Two units were heavily damaged by the fire, while several others sustained water damage from firefighting efforts.

The Red Cross assisting displaced families as they recover from the incident. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Investigators are working to determine what sparked the flames.
