Tuscaloosa looking at possibility of new fire station

VIDEO: A new fire station may be in the works for Tuscaloosa. A city councilor says thereโ€™s talk now of building one near Investigator Dornell Cousette Street. Councilwoman Raevan Howard says the fire station is not a done deal but something she says her district needs. If it happens, the new No. 5 Station would be located next door to the Tuscaloosa Police Departmentโ€™s logistics division, according to councilwoman Howard. The reason is to better serve neighbors who live south of the railroad tracks. Howard says around 15,000 people live in her district and building a new fire station would likely cost in the $2 million range. The new fire station is close to opening on Hargrove Road.
