‘This is my community’: Russellville Fire Department hires first graduate from fire science class

VIDEO: The Russellville Fire Department worked with local school officials to start a fire science class in hopes of getting new recruits. In Russellville, fire officials are trying to boost the number of firefighters who are out in the community. They said it all starts with just one class. “I would like to retire from here,” Aaron Lynch said. “I want to work here as long as I can.” Aaron Lynch graduated just last year from Russellville High School. Lynch has lived in Russellville for his entire life, and he said he loves the area. He already knows most of the firefighters on duty. He took a class called fire science, which taught him the ins and outs of being a first responder. He said it took him just ten weeks to fall in love.
