House catches fire after food left unattended on stove, Midfield firefighter taken to hospital

A firefighter was taken to the hospital after an early morning fire Sunday, August 17. According to Midfield Fire and Rescue, crews were called to a structure fire in the 800 block Alden Avenue after a fire originated from food left unattended on the stove. One firefighter was taken to a local hospital with chest pains. Fire officials say all occupants left the residence and escaped the fire and received aid from Brighton and Lipscomb Fire Departments. No other injuries or fatalities were reported in the fire.
