Gadsden first responders rescue swimmer from Coosa River

Gadsden first responders successfully located a missing swimmer in the Coosa River Friday afternoon, according to a statement from the city of Gadsden. The Gadsden Fire Department, Police Department and other nearby water rescue units responded after an individual called 911 around 1:30 p.m. reporting they had lost sight of a swimmer in the Coosa River near Jack L. Ray Park and the I-759 bridge. Authorities say the swimmer was found unharmed around 3:30 p.m.
