On the evening of June 14, 2025, Dora Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire at approximately 9:11 p.m. Despite already being engaged in storm-related tree removal, the team dispatched two apparatus and 10 personnel, arriving on the scene within four minutes of the 911 call. Upon arrival, firefighters found a residential structure with visible flames. A Cordova firefighter, passing through the area, had already ensured the occupants were safely out of the residence and identified a power line that posed a safety threat to the incoming firefighters. An aggressive attack was launched, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the occupants or firefighters. Dora Fire & Rescue extended special thanks to the West Jefferson Fire Department and Cordova Fire Department for their mutual aid, as well as to the Regional Paramedical Service for providing medical standby.
