VIDEOS/PHOTO: Highway 25 is back open in Bibb County after an industrial fire caused authorities to shut it down Saturday night, July 12. According to first responders in Bibb County, a fire was reported at the Stella-Jones Pole Yard in Brierfield around 9 p.m.
The Stella-Jones property has wood treatment products inside, according to Brierfield Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief, Jackson Chance. Chance said that Chilton, Shelby, Bibb and Tuscaloosa counties responded to the fire, and that it was large, causing responders to go into a defensive mode. As of Sunday morning, July 13, authorities told WBRCโs photojournalist that they had been on scene for about ten hours. Chance says that the fire has mostly burned itself down. Though, a plume of smoke can still be seen.
