A family was forced out of their home when it went up in flames early Friday morning. Elkmont Fire & Rescue crews responded to the home on Bethel Road just before 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, flames were visible through the roof of the home. Officials say the family made it out just in time, and no injuries were reported. Crews were able to extinguish the flames in under an hour. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown, but officials believe it may be electrical. The cause is under investigation.
