Dollar Lake, Little Greys fires currently burning in Bridger-Teton National Forest

VIDEO: The Dollar Lake Fire southwest of Dubois in the Green River Lakes area of the Pinedale Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest was first reported Thursday afternoon, and has resulted in the evacuation of the Dollar Lake area.

โ€œThe size of the fire is currently estimated at 600-acres and the cause is undetermined,โ€ the U.S. Forest Service-Bridger-Teton National Forest shared earlier this evening on its Facebook page. โ€œThe Sublette County Sheriffโ€™s Office has issued an emergency evacuation order for the Dollar Lake area.โ€

โ€œThe fire is burning in timber. Forest personnel and Sublette County are responding to suppress the fire. A helicopter is on scene and more aviation resources have been ordered. Please avoid the area to allow firefighting personnel safe and quick access to the area.โ€

The post reminds folks that the fire danger rating for the area remains at โ€œvery high,โ€ and stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect on the Bridger-Teton. The Sheriffโ€™s Office also shared that Green River Lakes Road at the end of State Highway 352 is closed for fire operations.

Additionally, the Little Greys Fire southwest of the Dollar Lake Fire is burning at around 39 acres, but crews have โ€œmade progress adding containment line around some of the edgesโ€ of the fire, according to another post on the U.S. Forest Service-Bridger-Teton National Forest Facebook page. The fire is southeast of the McCain Guard Station near Alpine.
