The Campbell County Fire Department is currently responding to two wildland fires. That’s according to a social media post from the CCFD, which states that Campbell County is currently experiencing a high volume of lightning strikes, which may be the cause of the fires.
One of the fires is near Rawhide Mine, while another is in the area of Hoe Creek Road. “Based on the current weather patterns, we anticipate additional fire starts depending on how much moisture accompanies these storms,” the post states. “If you see smoke or fire, please call 911 immediately to report it.” The post urged residents to stay alert and stay safe.
